New Delhi, Dec 09: Padma Vibhushan Dr Sonal Mansingh, Rajya Sabha MP, and her Delhi- based Centre for Indian Classical Dances (CICD), known as Shri Kamakhya Kalapeeth, will present celebrated dancer and choreographer Ananda Shankar Jayant’s critically acclaimed dance production, ‘Tales From the Bull and the Tiger’, on December 16 at Kamani Auditorium in the national capital.

The programme, being presented in collaboration with Shankarananda Kalakshetra, Hyderabad, will be held at 7 pm.

‘Tales from the Bull and the Tiger’ has been praised as a riveting dance production, with excellent choreography, artistic brilliance and visually stunning aesthetics.

Prasar Bharati Chairman Shri A Surya Prakash and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Director General Shri Akhilesh Mishra will grace the occasion as Honoured Guests.

“Every Indian dancer seeks God’s blessings. We place Him at the core of our being, seeking His benediction in life and in dance,” says Ananda, a winner of the Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademi award and an acclaimed TED speaker. “My years of yearning to encapsulate Him in a dance production led to the Tales from the Bull and the Tiger.”

The latest path-breaking dance production, the 26 th in the series from the repertoire of Shankarananda Kalakshetra, is performed by a vibrant ensemble cast of 20 dancers, with brilliant Bengaluru dancer Mithun Shyam as Guest artist in the lead along with Ananda. It has musical soundscape by Sathiraju Venumadhav, costume design by Ganesh Nallari, lights by Gyandev Singh, and digital design by Gunjan Ashtaputre.

Praised by noted art critic Sunil Kothari as ‘a riveting production’, ‘Tales from the Bull and the Tiger’ was earlier presented in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, winning the plaudits from viewers and critics alike. After the Delhi show, it is scheduled at Mumbai and Pune over the next few months.

“The dance production is a result of years of painstaking research and months of rigorous rehearsals, and marks the year-long celebrations of the 40 th anniversary of Shankarananda Kalakshetra,” said the danseuse, a Padmashri and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardee, an inspirational TED speaker and an arts entrepreneur.

The viewers will be treated to fascinating tales through brilliant narratives, as these bring to life centuries of knowledge, wisdom, philosophy, poetry and music.

In its 40 years of existence, Shankarananda Kalakshetra has emerged as a pre-eminent national institution for performing arts, taking Indian art to audiences across the globe. Its artistic body of work spans mythologies, historical chronicles, gender issues, poetry, abstraction, philosophy and humour, even as it continues to train young aspirants in Bharatanatyam in Hyderabad.

It is also a pioneer of arts in the digital space by creating a first-of-its-kind Bharanatyam practice app, named ‘Natyarambha’ (www.natyarambha.com ), which was launched in 2017 and is now followed across the world.

Krishnamachari enters the list for the fifth year

Kochi, Nov 15: Bose Krishnamachari, an internationally acclaimed artist and co-founder of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale (KMB), and Shubigi Rao, the curator of the fifth edition of the biennale that begins next year-end, have been included in Art Review’s coveted list of this year’s 100 most influential people in the global contemporary art scene.

This is for the fifth year on the trot that the KMB, one of the most anticipated biennales on the international art calendar, has been featured in the ‘Power 100’ list.

For Krishnamachari, this is the fifth consecutive entry in the list since 2015 as the Artistic Director and president of the Kochi Biennale Foundation that has been organizing the KMB since 2012. As for Singapore-based Indian-origin Rao, the visual artist, writer and archivist has made her debut in the list for being the curator of the four-month-long KMB beginning December 12, 2020.

The ‘Power 100’ is an annual ranking made by 30 anonymous international jurors and compiled by the influential Art Review magazine of the world's topmost contemporary artists and influencers.

The other Indians in this year’s list are Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak (at 30th rank), the 77-year-old scholar, literary theorist, and feminist critic who is a Professor at Columbia University, and Jeebesh Bagchi, Monica Narula & Shuddhabrata Sengupta , who form the Raqs Media Collective (rank 89).

The list also includes stalwarts like Glenn D. Lowry, Director of Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York; Nan Goldin, a legendary photographer; Iwan & Manuela Wirth, major gallerists with spaces in Zurich, London, New York and Hong Kong; Hito Steyerl, artist-theorist; and Thelma Golden, Director of the Studio Museum in Harlem.

Kerala-born and Mumbai-based Krishnamachari, 56, said his entry to the latest ‘Power 100’ proves yet again the validity of KMB as a path-breaking feature in India’s contemporary art festivals of international representation. “The Kochi-Muziris Biennale represents a coming together of the artists community in India. ArtReview has and continues to acknowledge the impact of the Biennale globally, since 2015. I also believe this to be a recognition of the collective work and support that has gone into the making of the Biennale.” he added.

The fifth edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale is slated to open on 12 December 2020 and will run up until 10 April 2021.

Design Kerala: Global experts to converge in Kochi for mega Design Festival

 5,000 delegates to attend the Dec 12-14 summit for Design ecosystem

Kochi, Oct 15:  Eyeing long-term development, Kerala will host a major Design Festival in December to discuss the global trends in design and architecture so as to employ them in the state’s sustained efforts to rebuild  nfrastructure.

The December 12-14 Kochi Design Week (KDW) will strive for the creation of a sustainable ecosystem through innovative design enabled by visionary thinking and technology, organisers said today. The inaugural day will focus on design, while architecture will be the chief subject for the second and third days.

The Department of Information Technology under the Kerala government in association with Asset Foundation is hosting the three-day event at Bolgatty Palace. Registrations are to begin this month.

Billed as India’s largest annual international festival of its kind, the event gives creative minds a platform to meet and brainstorm on new facets in design and architecture.

The meet, now into its second edition, will witness the assemblage of more than 5,000 design professionals, architects, interior designers, thought leaders, policymakers and government officials besides the general public. Curated by leading experts, KDW will chiefly hold sessions on design and architecture, exhibitions and installations.

Featuring speakers of international repute in design, architecture and city planning, the event will also be addressed by Kerala Chief Minister Mr Pinarayi Vijayan.

The highlights of the KDW 2019 will be the charting of an exclusive ‘Design Island’ for the hosting of the annual event and setting up of design installations across Kochi’s high-visibility areas, besides laying special tracks for design architecture and interior designs.

“We need to give the concept of sustainable design its deserving focus in various domains such as technology, urban planning and architecture,” points out Mr Arun Balachandran, Chief Minister’s Fellow (IT), Government of Kerala who is the special officer for Kochi Design Week project. “The huge success of the first edition of KDW has made everyone realise the criticality of the role ‘design’ plays in transforming our cities and societies into sustainable ecosystems of the future.”

The KDW 2018 had showcased technology options of use in any rebuilding phase as installations for various stakeholders to experience them. Ideas that emerged out of that edition were distributed to relevant departments for their reference.

कथाकार— दिलचस्प क​हानियों के कथावाचन उत्सव का रंगारंग समापन

नई दिल्ली, 14 अक्तूबर। हुमायूं मकबरे के भव्य परिसर में सितारों भरे आकाश के तले रविवार की रात को कथावाचन उत्सव का रंगारंग समापन हो गया। तीन दिवसीय कथाकार 2019 उत्सव में जुटे दुनियाभर के कथाकारों ने दिलचस्प अंदाज में कई बेहतरीन कहानियां सुनाकर श्रोताओं को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया। समारोह में बड़ी संख्या में बच्चों के अलावा करीब 1,200 श्रोताओं की मौजूदगी रही जो गुलाबी सर्दी की संध्या को कुछ और मजेदार कहानियां सुने बिने वहां से जाने का नाम नहीं ले रहे थे।

यहां पहुंचे मेहमानों और भागीदारों में मोहित चौहान, इम्तियाज अली, दिल्ली के उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया, ​रीतेश नंदा, सुशीला देवी के अलावा रश्मि मान और रुचिता ताहिलियानी जैसे मॉडलों ने कार्यक्रम की भव्यता में चार चांद लगा दिए। इन सबमें फिल्म निर्देशक इम्तियाज अली ने अपने जादुई अंदाज में कहानी सुनाकर एक बार फिर श्रोताओं में अपनी प्रतिभा का लोहा मनवाया। 'लव आजकल' और 'रॉकस्टार' जैसी सुपरहिट फिल्में देने वाले अली ने बड़ी विनम्रता से बताया, 'पात्रों का अनुकरण करते हुए कहानियां सुनाने वाला ही अच्छा कथावाचक हो सकता है।'

वर्ष 2010 में शुरू हुआ 'कथाकार—अंतरराष्ट्रीय कथावाचन महोत्सव' कहानियां सुनाने की प्राचीन कला को पुनर्जीवित करने का एक गंभीर प्रयास है। इस फिनाले में भारतीय प्रस्तोता दानिश हुसैन ने भी अपनी जड़ों से जुड़ीं कहानियां सुनाकर भीड़ को अपनी ओर आकर्षित किया। पुरस्कार विजेता इस अभिनेता, कवि और रंगमंच निर्देशक ने उर्दू जुबान में कहानियां सुनाकर श्रोताओं को मंत्रमुग्ध किया। हुसैन उर्दू कथावाचन की विलुप्त होती कला दास्तानगोई को पुनर्जीवित करने में अग्रणी भूमिका निभा रहे हैं। हुसैन ने हबीब तनवीर, एमएस सत्यु, राजिंदर नाथ और सबीना मेहता जेटली जैसी महान सृजनशील और साहित्यिक हस्तियों से यह कला सीखी है।

कार्यक्रम में अदाओं के साथ कहानियां सुनाने में माहिर एमिली हेनेसी (पूर्ववर्ती नाम एमिली पैरिश) ने हिंदू महाकाव्य रामायण से लेकर अफ्रीका की अनांसी कहानियों समेत दुनियाभर की दंतकथाओं, महागाथाओं, महाकाव्यों, लोककथाओं और परिकथाओं का दिलचस्प वर्णन किया। स्वीडिश पृष्ठभूमि से होने के कारण वह स्कैंडिनेवियन लोककथाएं और नार्वेजियन गाथाएं सुनाना भी पसंद करती हैं। उन्होंने अपनी शैली में महाभारत के पात्र शिखंडी की कथा सुनाई कि कैसे कुरुक्षेत्र के युद्ध में उसने पांडवों का साथ दिया और अंबा से शादी का प्रस्ताव ठुकरा चुके भीष्म से अपने पुनर्जन्म का बदला लिया।

किस्सेबाजी के एक अन्य दौर में दो उभरते भारतीय मॉडलों ने भी ठेठ हरियाणवी शैली में कहानियां सुनाईं। ब्रिटेन की वर्जिन गल्बेंकियन ने तीन राजकुमारों से जुड़ी यूरोप की एक लोककथा सुनाई। अमेरिकी मूल की वर्जिन कार्डियोवैस्कुलर थेरापिस्ट भी हैं। वहीं, जर्जी सजुफा ने पोलैंड की लोककथाओं से जुड़ी 'स्टेपाहनोव लुहार' की कहानी सुनाई। उनके लिए परियों और योद्धाओं की कहानियां सुनाने की कला ही उनका जुनून है।

कथाकार उत्सव में ऑस्ट्रेलिआ  के रॉन मरे एक बार फिर 25,000 साल से भी पुराने वाद्ययंत्र डिजरिडू के साथ मंच पर आए और कूकाबूरा जैसे ऑस्ट्रेलियाई जानवरों की नकल उतारते हुए यह यंत्र बजाकर श्रोताओं को अभिभूत किया। समापन समारोह में शिरकत कर रहे मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा कि सुनाई गईं सभी कहानियां शिक्षाप्रद हैं। इनमें से कुछ पौराणिक कहानियों का मूल्य आज खत्म होता जा रहा है। मसलन, राजा हरिश्चंद्र की कहानी में सत्य पर अडिग रहने की नसीहत मिलती है लेकिन आज सत्यवादी को राजा हरिश्चंद्र कहकर उनका

उपहास किया जाता है। उन्होंने कहा कि कथावाचन की परंपरा को स्कूली पाठ्यक्रम में भी शामिल किया जाना चाहिए। समारोह के मुख्य संरक्षक मोहित चौहान और संरक्षक सुशीला देवी ने सभी भागीदारों को सम्मानित किया।

कथाकार इस समारोह के समर्थक और स्थान भागीदारों के तौर पर एचएचएसीएच (हिमालयन हब फॉर आर्ट, कल्चर एंड हेरिटेज), बाबाजी म्यूजिक तथा आगा खां ट्रस्ट फॉर कल्चर के साथ गठित किया गया एक  सांस्कृतिक मंच है। इस उत्सव की परिकल्पना तीन बहनों— रचना, प्रार्थना और शगुना गहलोत ने की और भारत के पहले ब्रेल एडिटर और उत्साही पाठक ठाकुर विष्णु नारायण सिंह की याद में यूनेस्को के कार्यक्रम घुमक्कड़ नारायण के तहत वर्ष 2010 में यह कार्यक्रम शुरू किया गया।

नई दिल्ली, 12 अक्तूबर। विलुप्त होती जा रही कथावाचन की सदियों पुरानी परंपरा को पुनर्जीवित करने के लिए शुरू की गई शानदार मुहिम की राष्ट्रीय राजधानी के लोगों ने जमकर सराहना की। भारत के एकमात्र और लगातार लोकप्रिय होते जा रहे सालाना कथावाचन समारोह कथाकार 2019 के तीन दिवसीय कार्यक्रम में भारत और विश्व के अन्य हिस्सों से आए पेशेवर और जुनूनी कथावाचकों ने दिलचस्प अंदाज में कहानियां सुनाईं।

अब 12वें साल में प्रवेश कर चुका कथाकार हुमायूं मकबरा परिसर की सुंदर नर्सरी में आयोजित किया गया। शुक्रवार की शाम कथावाचकों ने अपनी कला से यह साबित कर दिखाया कि दुनिया के सभी महाद्वीपों और संस्कृतियों में कथावाचन की परंपरा एक जैसी ही है। हवा में सर्दी की आहट का अहसास देने वाले इस मौसम में यह कार्यक्रम ग्रैमी पुरस्कार विजेता बौद्ध भिक्षुओं के एक सुर में मंत्रमुग्ध कर देने वाले मंत्रोच्चार से शुरू हुआ। हिमाचल प्रदेश में धर्मशाला के पास क्योरी जिला के पॉलोंग शेराब्लिंग मठ के ये सभी बौद्ध भिक्षु गेरुआ रंग के परिधान में थे। यह मठ करमा काग्यू पंथ के प्रसिद्ध बौद्ध भिक्षु ताई सितु रिंपोछे की गद्दी है और मंत्रोच्चार की उनकी यह पुरानी परंपरा 7वीं सदी से चली आ रही है।

एक बौद्ध भिक्षु ने कहा, 'पवित्र मंत्रोच्चार की यह परंपरा मठों से शुरू हुई मंत्रोच्चारण परंपरा के कारण आज भी बची हुई है।' मंत्रोच्चारण के रूप में ये प्रार्थनाएं शेराब्लिंग मठ में प्रतिदिन सुबह और शाम को आयोजित होती हैं। शाम का कार्यक्रम समारोह के सहयोगी एवं स्थान भागीदारों के तौर पर एचएचएसीएच (हिमालयन हब फॉर आर्ट, कल्चर एंड हेरिटेज), बाबाजी म्यूजिक और आगा खान ट्रस्ट फॉर कल्चर से बने सांस्कृतिक मंच निवेश द्वारा आयोजित कथावाचन की प्राचीन विरासत के साथ शुरू हुआ। विविधापूर्ण संस्कृतियों की कथावाचन परंपराओं के गूढ़ रहस्यों को सुलझाने को प्रयासरत यह समारोह तीन बहनों— रचना, प्रार्थना और शगुना गहलोत की परिकल्पना है। इसका आगाज 2010 में भारत के पहले ब्रेल एडिटर और उत्सुक पाठक तथा साहित्यकार ठाकुर विश्व नारायण सिंह की याद में शुरू किए गए घुमक्कड़ नारायण कार्यक्रम के तहत यूनेस्को के निर्देशन में किया गया था।

2019 के समारोह का औपचारिक उद्घाटन केंद्रीय खेल एवं युवा मामलों के राज्यमंत्री श्री किरेन रिजिजू, मशहूर अभिनेता, पद्मश्री और राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार विजेता मनोज बाजपेयी तथा समारोह के संरक्षक तथा गायक—पटकथा लेखक—गीतकार मोहित चौहान ने किया। 

दिल्ली के इस कलाकार का राजधानी के प्रति गहरा लगाव है लेकिन उन्हें इस बात का दुख है कि बहुत सारी ऐतिहासिक निशानियां अब विलुप्त होने लगी हैं। प्रार्थना गहलोत की अध्यक्षता में आयोजित इस समरोह में विशुद्ध हिंदी में उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली एक महान शहर है और दरवाजों के रूप में आज भी इसके कई हिस्से इतिहास बयां कर रहे हैं। खासकर, दिल्ली गेट कई ऐतिहासिक बदलावों का गवाह रहा है।

बाजपेयी ने कहा, 'आज इस गेट के ऐतिहासिक महत्व को महसूस किए बिना लोग इधर से बड़े निर्लिप्त भाव से गुजर जाते हैं। कहानियां सुनाकर बताने की ये कथावाचन परंपराएं इस विरासत और समृद्ध परंपरा को जिंदा रखने में मदद करेंगी।' केंद्रीय युवा मामलों के मंत्री श्री किरेन रिजिजू ने कथाएं सुनाने की समृद्ध परंपरा का बखान किया। उन्होंने कहा कि गजेट संस्कृति वाली आधुनिक जीवनशैली ने इस मौखिक परंपरा की पहुंच को नुकसान पहुंचाया है लेकिन अब लगता है कि कहानियां सुनाने की यह पुरानी कला विधा एक बार फिर पुनर्जीवित हो रही है, जिसे इस समारोह में विशेष अंदाज में पेश किया जा रहा है।

समारोह में श्रोताओं के तौर पर 800 से अधिक हस्तियां मौजूद रहीं, जिनमें अभिनेत्री रत्ना पाठक शाह, दिल्ली के विधायक सौरभ भारद्वाज, सूरीनाम एवं मंगोलिया के राजदूत भी शामिल थे।

उद्घाटन दिवस पर ऑस्ट्रेलिया के अंकल लैरी वाल्श ने भी अपनी वाक—क्षमता से दर्शकों को बांधे रखा। ऑस्ट्रेलिया के ताउरागुरोंग आदिवासी के सदस्य और इस दिग्गज कथावाचक ने इस तथ्य पर प्रकाश डाला कि कथावाचन आदिवासी संस्कृति की एक महत्वपूर्ण अभिव्यक्ति और सेवा है।

उन्होंने कहा, 'मैं समाजों खासकर आदिवासियों को मजबूत बनाना चाहता हूं। आदिवासी समूह के लोगों को भी आधुनिक विश्व में उतना ही सशक्त होना चाहिए, जितना कि अतीत में वे समाज से जुड़े हुए थे।' 

खुद को  'सांस्कृतिक शिक्षाविद' बताने वाले स्कॉटिश मूल के आदिवासी रॉन मूरे ने अपने वाद्ययंत्र डिजरिडू के साथ कथावाचन कर श्रोताओं को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया। उन्होंने बताया कि आदिवासी कैसे जीवनयापन करते थे और आज भी कैसे अपनी परंपराओं को जिंदा रखे हुए हैं।

पोलैंड की कथावाचक एमिलिया रेटर ने बीन बजाते हुए अपने देश के गीतों का गायन कर कथा सुनाई। वह कथावाचन का अस्तित्व बने रहने को लेकर आशावान हैं और कहती हैं, 'लोग कथाएं सुनाना पसंद करते हैं।' भारतीय पौराणिक कथाओं से प्रभावित केंट यूनिवर्सिटी की एमिली पैरिश मां काली के विभिन्न अवतारों की पूजा करने की परंपरा से चकित थीं। उन्होंने मां काली से जुड़ी रक्तबीज की कथा सुनाकर श्रोताओं का मन मोह लिया। जैसे—जैसे रात होने लगी, बच्चों समेत श्रोताओं की उत्साही भीड़ उमड़ने लगी। इससे साबित हो गया कि यहां जो कथाएं सुनाई गईं, वे पहले भी कई जगह और कई बार प्रकाशित हो चुकी हैं, लेकिन आज भी इनके वाचन की शैली ज्यादा प्रासंगिक बनी हुई है और शब्द लेखन से इसके जादू को बयां करना संभव नहीं है। कथावाचन न सिर्फ आपको सबक सिखाता है या मनोरंजन करता है, बल्कि यह आपके लिए उम्मीद की एक किरण भी जगाता है।

कथाकार एक बार फिर 11 से 13 अक्तूबर को विश्व में कथावाचन का जादू बिखेरेंगे

नई दिल्ली, 4 अक्तूबर: राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में इसी सप्ताह एक बार फिर विश्व की पौराणिक कथाओं के वाचन गूंजेगी। देश में बोलकर कथा सुनाने के एकमात्र उत्सव कथाकार 2019 के तहत 11 अक्तूबर से होने वाली तीन दिवसीय कथावाचन के आयोजन की तैयारी पूरी हो चुकी है। 

दिलचस्प अंदाज में कथा सुनाने वाले दुनियाभर के पेशेवर और जुनूनी कथावाचक इस नौवें सालाना समारोह में कथावाचन का जादू बिखेरेंगे। यह कार्यक्रम दिल्ली में हुमायूं मकबरे से सटे 16वीं सदी के हेरिटेज पार्क कॉम्प्लेक्स सुंदर नर्सरी में आयोजित किया जाएगा। सांस्कृतिक संस्था निवेश द्वारा 11 से 13 अक्तूबर तक प्रत्येक संध्या को मुख्य रूप से आयोजित इस समारोह में कुल 17 सत्र होंगे।

हिमालयन हब फॉर आर्ट, कल्चर एंड हेरिटेज (एचएचएसीएच) और बाबाजी म्यूजिक के सहयोग से आयोजित कथाकार कार्यक्रम आम जनता के लिए खुला है। कथावाचन सत्र मेजबान देश के अलावा पोलैंड, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, स्वीडन, रोमानिया, मंगोलिया, लिथुआनिया और ब्रिटेन की लोक कथाओं और भारत की दुर्लभ कला विधाओं पर केंद्रित है।

समारोह में कार्यक्रम के संरक्षक और स्वरों के जादूगर मोहित चौहान के साथ अभिनेता मनोज वाजपेयी की वार्तालाप के जरिये 'किस्से कहानी और अदाकारी' सत्र भी आयोजित किया जाएगा। दोनों हस्तियां शुक्रवार, 11 अक्तूबर की संध्या 7.30 बजे समारोह का उद्घाटन करेंगे ।

थियेटर कलाकार दानिश हुसैन खुद के निर्देशन में 'किस्सेबाजी: ए मल्टीलिंगुअल स्टोरीटेलिंग ऑर्बिट' की प्रस्तुति देंगे। केरल के परंपरागत तोलपावाकूतु से जुड़े कठपुतली कलाकार तमिल महाकाव्य कंबा रामायण के थीम पर आधारित अपने मशहूर शैडो थियेटर से दर्शकों का मनोरंजन करेंगे।

साथ ही पहली बार कलाकार 2019 में हिमाचल प्रदेश के शेराब्लिंग से आए ग्रैमी पुरस्कार विजेता बौद्ध भिक्षुओं द्वारा बौद्ध मंत्रों का उच्चारण किया जाएगा। इसके अलावा पहली बार ऑस्ट्रेलियाई आदिवासी कथावाचक अंकल लैरी वाल्श अपनी स्वदेशी कथाओं का वाचन करेंगे और भारतीय श्रोताओं के बीच यह उनका पहला अनुभव होगा। फिल्मकार इम्तियाज अली भी फिल्म निर्माण को लेकर अपनी कहानियों को साझा करेंगे।

समारोह का आगाज 2010 में तीन बहनों प्रार्थना, रचना और शगुना गाहिलोत की पहल पर हुआ था जिन्होंने नाट्य प्रस्तुति और त्योहारों के माध्यम से अलग—थलग पड़ चुकी इस कला विधा कथावाचन को पुनर्जीवित करने में उत्कृष्ट भूमिका निभाई। शगुना कथावाचन में माहिर हैं। प्रार्थना और शगुना ने 'क्यूरियस टेल्स फ्रॉम हिमालयाज' नामक पुस्तक लिखी है जिसमें हिमालयी क्षेत्र लद्दाख से लेकर अरुणाचल प्रदेश के पूर्वी हिस्से की 11 लोककथाएं शामिल हैं। 

पोलैंड की कथावाचक एमिलिया रेटर भी इस कार्यक्रम में शिरकत कर रही हैं और वह अपने देश के गीतों को बीन बजाते हुए गाने के लिए प्रसिद्ध हैं। ब्रिटेन की एमिली हेनेसी भारत में काली और महाभारत से जुड़ीं लोककथाएं सुनाएंगी। इसके अलावा ऑस्ट्रेलिया को छोड़कर दुनिया के अन्य देशों खासकर रोमानिया और स्वीडन जैसे यूरोपीय देशों की कहानियां भी कार्यक्रम में सुनाई जाएंगी।

इसमें किस्सेबाजी दो खंडों में प्रस्तुत की जाएगी जिसमें श्रोताओं का कई देशों व संस्कृति की कहानियों से मनोरंजन किया जाएगा। इसके तहत महिला कलाकार रश्मि मान और रुचिता ताहिलियानी द्वारा हरियाणवी लोककथाओं की भी प्रस्तुति की जाएगी।

सुबह के सत्रों में दिल्ली निगम, सरकारी, प्राइवेट, सामुदायिक और सिविल सोसायटी के स्कूलों के बच्चों का मनोरंजन किया जाएगा। ये सत्र प्राथमिक और माध्यमिक स्तर के बच्चों में विभाजित होंगे जिनमें आठ साल और इससे अधिक उम्र के बच्चों को कहानियां सुनाई जाएंगी।

यह कार्यक्रम सबसे पहले यूनेस्को के निर्देशन में घुमक्कड़ नारायण के तहत शुरू किया गया था। घुमक्कड़ नारायण भारत के पहले ब्रेल एडिटर और उत्सुक पाठक तथा साहित्यकार ठाकुर विश्व नारायण सिंह की याद में शुरू किया गया एक चलता—फिरता साहित्य समारोह है।
